City Arts and Music Project

23 03 2010

I first spotted CAMP while having lunch at Benugo at the Old Street tube station, and immediately saw that the City Arts and Music Project is exactly the type of experimental, semi-temporary cutting edge space that makes London such a creative and exciting place to live. Read on below for more about the latest happening at East London’s CAMP:

The City Arts & Music Project (The CAMP) first opened its doors late last summer as London’s newest temporary space  to bring  together cutting edge  music, arts and creative spheres and creating a place of general hangoutability…

Now, 8 months on, CAMP is moving in to phase 2 of its two-year plan, the official opening of  The BASEMENT. The space has already been given an extensive test drive by the likes of Süd Electronic, Need2Soul, Deviation and secretsundaze and it’s raw, stripped back interior and uber underground style has drawn comparisons with some of Berlin’s finest nocturnal haunts. Over the next couple of months The Juan Maclean (DFA), Friendly Fires djs, Âme & Dixon and Egyptian Hip Hop will all take to the BASEMENT stage and there’s plenty more to come.
