About MyMetropole

Metropole: Mother city, metropolis.

MyMetropole – London, England.

I’ll share my metropole here, not as a tourist, that’s so yesterday. Not as a native, either – as my roots stretch longways back to the Windy City of Chicago. I’ll share my metropole with you as a London local. I am an American from Chicago by way of Costa Rica, Guatemala and Germany settled now in London, making the most of this metropolis.

London is my own personal metropole, as much as it is yours, as much as it is anyone’s.  I’d just like to share with as many people as possible what makes London so unique.

I look for authentic, groundbreaking, interesting, off-the-beaten-path, spectacular, popular, and budding potential.

If you live here, I hope you use my posts to inspire you to check out parts of London you otherwise wouldnt. If you are visiting London in the future, I hope you use mymetropole to inspire you to visit places in London far off  the beaten path. There is nothing wrong with the path, but London has so much more to offer than Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Trafalgar Square.

London opens up new worlds to me, and is so easy to navigate I can explore the diversity of the world right here, on two wheels or less.

London has countless worlds inside of the M25, a belt that holds the bulging Big Smoke together, so it doesnt Burst. There is so much to do and see and experience and touch and think and feel and learn and make and explore and start and finish and love in this city, and somehow London makes room for everyone to do anything and everything they like.

Unlike New York, this city sleeps – but it sleeps at 3am on Satin sheets, lipstick stained, up at 6, business suit and briefcase giving way to rolled up sleeves at the pub or high brow culture post-income earning hours and all skinny-jeans and fringe at an arts or music festival during the weekend.

This is MyMetropole, as much as it is yours!

Get in touch with me at jessicaainlay@yahoo.com if you want to suggest something for me to check out in London and write about here.

game avatar Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your content seem to be running off the screen in Firefox. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The style and design look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon. Thanks
